ARB.Legal was present at the IV Blue Economy Development Forum of Rio Grande do Sul, one of the main spaces for strategic articulation on the future of activities linked to the sea in Brazil. Over three days, the meeting brought together the productive sector, authorities, academia, and business leaders around a common point: how to structure growth with responsibility, safety, and a long-term vision.
Among the debates, Panel 1 addressed one of the most relevant topics of the moment: the Pelotas Basin.
Moderated by Arthur Rocha Baptista, the panel brought together experts and representatives from TGS to discuss the progress of seismic research, ongoing environmental campaigns, and the role of licensing in enabling new projects. What was presented goes beyond a technical agenda. The Pelotas Basin ceases to be a hypothesis and begins to occupy a concrete space in energy planning and socioeconomic development in the country. As highlighted during the panel, it is an opportunity with structuring potential for Rio Grande do Sul and for Brazilian energy autonomy.
The Forum reinforces a clear direction: there is no consistent development without a technical foundation, regulatory security, institutional coordination, and strategic vision. ARB.Legal also acknowledges Alice Rocha Baptista’s contribution to organizing the event, which reinforces the relevance and quality of this initiative.
